After a break of 7 years, Abhimanyu Kashinath’s new project was announced and launched on the eve of Diwali. The upcoming film, titled Yallige Payana Yavudo Daari and to be helmed by Kiran Surya, was launched by actor Upendra. The poster of the film was also released by Upendra.

Abhimanyu is the son of veteran actor and director Kashinath. He debuted in the 2009 film Baaji, directed by newcomer S Shidlaghatta Srinivas. After that, he went on to act in a couple of films, which did not live up to expectations.

It may be noted here that Upendra considers director Kashinath as his mentor.

Touted to be a suspense thriller, Abhimanyu will reportedly get a makeover for the role. The title is inspired by a song in one of Rajkumar’s films from the 1970s. The film will have newcomer Spoorthy as the heroine and the film is expected to go on the floors from next month.

The film will have music by S Narayan, cinematography by Gowtham Manu, editing by Ravichandran C and visual effects by Viswas. The film is produced by Nandeesha MC Gowda and Jatin G Patel, under the banner Sudharshana Arts.

Upendra is currently busy with Buddhivantha 2 directed by Maurya DN. While the title gave rise to speculations that it may be a sequel to the star’s hit movie Buddhivantha, the director confirmed that it was not so. Upendra will be playing dual roles in this film with Sonal Monteiro and Meghana Raj as the female leads. After Brahma and I Love You, Upendra and director R Chandru are teaming up once again for Kabza. The first look of the film was recently released and the star is seen in a retro look from the 1980s. The actor is seen sporting his hair grown out, back-brushed and wearing bell-bottoms with printed, buttoned-down shirts.
