After a long wait, the title of the movie starring Fahadh Faasil and Sai Pallavi is out! The film’s title is disclosed to be Athiran. Reports are that this film will hit the marquee in April this year and the exact release date will be announced soon.

The shooting of Fahadh Faasil’s upcoming film has been wrapped up and the post production has begun. Directed by debutant Vivek, Athiran has been scripted by PF Mathews of Ee.Ma.Yau. fame. Reports are that it is a thriller with its backdrop being a psychiatric hospital in Ooty. The cast of Athiran also includes Atul Kulkarni, Prakash Raj, Surabhi, Sudev Renji Panicker, Lena and Shanthi Krishna in supporting roles.

It may be noted here that Premam was Sai Pallavi’s debut in the Malayalam film industry and she had won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut - South for her performance in it. Her character Malar in the film catapulted her to a star status following which she started to bag prestigious offers in Tamil and Telugu. The actor went on to star in another Malayalam film Kali opposite Dulquer Salmaan which was released in 2016. After that, Sai Pallavi had not been seen in Mollywood for long, leaving her fans disappointed. The movie with Fahadh, marking her comeback after three years, therefore is much anticipated.

Fahadh’s last film release was Kumbalangi Nights. The film, directed by Madhu Narayanan, is scripted by Syam Pushkaran. The actor has won much praise for his role as a creepy character sending chills down your spine just by smiling widely and asking many questions.

Sai Pallavi is currently busy playing the female lead in NGK, which is in the post production stage and being directed by Selvaraghavan. In this movie, Sai Pallavi will be sharing the screen space with Suriya. Her last film release in Tamil was the Dhanush starrer Maari 2, which went on to do well at the box office.
