In his upcoming film Chanakya Thantram directed by Kannan Thamarakulam, Unni Mukundan will be seen in five different avatars and the most important of it is the woman character he gets to play. On this, the actor has said that he received tips from his co-star in Bhagmathie, Anushka Shetty.

He has said that the actor gave him tips on how to carry himself as a woman, the style, costumes, behaviour etc. On his role in Chanakya Thantram and working with the director, Unni Mukundan has been quoted by Manorama Online as saying: “I befriended Kannan Thamarakulam during the shoot of Achayans. I have always wanted to explore different characters and do challenging roles. When Kannan came to me with the script of Chanakyathanthram, I did not think twice to accept the offer as I found it very interesting. I will be playing five different roles in the movie, that includes a female role and the title character of my breakthrough film Mallu Singh. The first look posters of my female avatar Karishma has already created a buzz on social media.”

The star also added that the full credit for transforming him into a woman should go to his make up artiste Pradeep Rangan. Unni Mukundan pointed out that having a muscular frame, he was initially doubtful if he would fit in the role but things did work out favorably. Unni Mukundan began this year on a positive note with his bilingual Bhaagmathie doing well at the box office. He had shared screen space with Anushka Shetty in this flick which was released in Tamil and Telugu. His next release was Ira, the Malayalam language thriller that was directed by Saiju SS and starred Gokul Suresh, Miya, Niranjana Anoop, Lena, and Shanker Ramakrishnan.
