The News Minute | March 18, 2015 | 08.50 am ISTTwo separate incidents of gangrape were reported in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday.In Karaikudi on Monday, two men posing as policemen allegedly kidnapped and raped a 25-year-old woman, The Hindu reported.The woman was with a friend in the cashew grove forest, when the two suspects forced her away and raped her at knifepoint, said the report. According to police, the two middle-aged men , dressed in khaki abducted her, and took the mobile phone from her friend and his vehicle key. Even though a complaint was lodged with the police, they were unable to trace her. The suspects had kept the woman with them throughout the night before dropping her off at the nearby bus stand. A case has been registered.In another case at Rasipuram, four men were arrested in the gangrape of a 27-year-old woman. The men aged between 21 and 23 were working in sago units in Namagiripetai.The woman who also worked in a sago unit had been returning home from work with a man she lived with, when the five-member gang assaulted the man, and allegedly raped her.Initially, no action was taken even though a sub-Inspector visited the woman's house. The two were even asked not to reveal the incident. However, the arrests were made after an enquiry by Superintendent of Police, SR Senthil Kumar, said the report.A fifth person is yet to be found.
