One person was killed and three others were injured after a freak accident near the Secunderabad Railway Station on Saturday evening, when a bus belonging to the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) ran amok near Clock Tower. The police said that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle, following which it hit a car and an auto rickshaw. It also ran over a homeless beggar, who succumbed to his injuries.

“The first person to be hit by the bus was the beggar, who died on spot. Then the bus hit others waiting at the bus stop. It came to a stop only after hitting the Metro pillar. All the injured were shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment. The vehicles that were hit by the bus were also severely damaged,” Gopalpuram sub-inspector Satish was quoted as saying

The bus left from Miyapur depot and was headed to Secunderabad from JNTU, according to reports. A case was also booked under Section 304 A (death by negligence) and Section 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The accident was also caught on camera. Watch the video below.

Earlier this week, four people travelling in an ambulance were killed on Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road (ORR) when a speeding SUV hit the median and overturned on to the other side of the road, colliding with the emergency vehicle. The incident took place near Adibatla, with police suspecting that the SUV driver dozed off at the wheel, which led to the accident.

According to media reports, a cancer patient was being carried by the ambulance, which was heading to Ballari in Karnataka from Eluru in Andhra Pradesh. The deceased were identified as 60-year-old B Venkateshwara Rao, the patient, his wife, 55-year-old Subba Lakshmi, his brother Rama Rao and the ambulance driver, 24-year-old Shiva.
