Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday expressed his reservations about US president Donald Trump, with reference to his attempts to impose restrictions on H-1B visas.

In a meeting with Mandal Education Officers (MEOs) and headmasters from 13 districts in Vijayawada, Naidu said with his protectionism attitude, Trump has been leading America towards chaos.

“Trump has set an example of how an individual can ruin a country. There are agitations all over and the whole of US is under turmoil,” Naidu was quoted as saying in Ahmedabad Mirror.

Naidu pointed out that in the world population, out of every four software employees, there is one Indian. He expressed his concern over the way Trump has been attempting to restrict the H-1B visas and immigrant workers, saying it will be a loss for his own country.

The Hindu quoted Naidu as saying “Mr. Trump’s policy [on H-1B visas] is a shocker for the global workforce. It is through such actions that the prestige of countries is lowered.”

During his speech, he also talked about the work the ruling party has been doing for the state and its people.

Talking about his 2004 election, he said that even though he has been making efforts for the development of the state, however, he lost as teachers turned against him.

“Now, I am trying to take teachers along with every development activity in the State,” The New Indian Express quoted Naidu.

He pointed out that the government had made one of the highest allocations of Rs 21,500 crore to the Education department in last year’s budget, and it has fulfilled wishes of the teachers.

The ruling government raised the retirement age of teachers to 60. Besides, the government also filled MEO posts and increased the childcare leave to 60 days, he said.

Naidu also took the opportunity to compare Leader of the Opposition YS Jaganmohan Reddy, to Donald Trump, without naming him.

He said that the US President is an example for the world of how power could be misused if given to the wrong man.

This is not the first time Naidu has commented on Donald Trump. Last year in October, he had criticised Trump over his comment on women.

"If you listen to what Trump says, you will understand the hollowness. Even a top-ranking nation like America is having a leadership crisis. Trump spoke badly about women... It sparked worldwide reactions. Women are inferior to none," Naidu told Deccan Chronicle.
