Caretaker IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday said that the 'reign' of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Hyderabad would end, come December 11. The senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader was speaking after flagging off the party's campaign in Amberpet, a BJP stronghold, where G Kishan Reddy is seeking a reelection for his third consecutive term.

“The BJP thinks Amberpet is its fortress. They are assuming too much. Let me declare that TRS will see to it that BJP will not retain deposit in 100 constituencies,” KTR was quoted as saying.

KTR was addressing a gathering of advocates in the city as it has fielded Kaleru Venkatesham, an advocate, to try and defeat Kishan Reddy.

Praising the lawyers, he stated that, along with student community, the advocates played an active role in Telangana movement. He remembered how advocates called for the boycott of courts and BAR Associations and rendered support to the movement.

Speaking at the ‘Advocates for TRS’ meeting in Hyderabad, KTR assured the gathering that the demand for new district courts would be addressed soon and also responded positively when advocates requested for revenue courts in new revenue divisions.

KTR also said that the TRS will work towards setting up more fast-track courts to provide immediate justice to the people, while adding the bifurcation of the Hyderabad High Court will take place after the elections.

Talking about the Mahakutami, the caretaker minister ridiculed the alliance and said that the Congress was dancing to the tunes of Chandrababu Naidu and was trying to win elections in the name of caste, region, and religion.

The Congress party has betrayed Osmania University students and did not give a single seat to them in the elections unlike the TRS party always encouraged student leaders and gave them opportunities to grow, he added.
