The Arakonam Junction upgradation work has disrupted several train services in Chennai. According to a circular put out by Southern Railway, the following trains have been rescheduled on April 24. This diversion of trains will continue until May 6 reads a press release from the Southern Railways.

Train No 11042 Chennai Central to Mumbai CSMT Express, scheduled to leave Chennai at 12.20 will be rescheduled to leave one hour and fifteen minutes late. Train No 12679 Chennai Central to Coimbatore Intercity Express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 14.30 will be rescheduled to leave late by an hour.

Train No 12609 Chennai Central to Bengaluru Express scheduled to leave at 13.35 will be rescheduled to leave late by an hour. Train No 12607 Chennai Central to Bengaluru Lalbagh Express scheduled to leave at 15.35 will be rescheduled to leave late by an hour.

The following trains have been rescheduled on April 25. Train no 11042 Chennai Central to Mumbai CSMT Express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 12.20 will be rescheduled to leave Chennai Central late by 30 minutes. Train No 12679 Chennai Central to Coimbatore Intercity Express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 14.30 will be rescheduled to leave Chennai Central late by one hour.

Train No 12609, Chennai Central to Bengaluru express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 13.35 hours will be rescheduled to leave Chennai Central late by one hour. Train No 12607 Chennai Central to Bengaluru Lalbagh express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 15.35 will be rescheduled to leave Chennai Central late by an hour.

Train No 22601 Chennai Central to Sai Nagar Shiridi Express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 10.10 will be rescheduled to leave Chennai late by 2 hours and 20minutes. Train No 22637 Chennai Central to Mangalore West Coast Express, scheduled to leave Chennai Central at 12.05 will be rescheduled to leave Chennai Central late by an hour.

On 24 and 25, MMC - Tiruttani EMU locals and Tiruttani to MMC EMU Locals, scheduled to leave MMC at 10.00 and 11.45 and Tiruttani at 13.15 and 14.30 will be partially canceled. Trains will run to and fro MMC and Arakkonam only.

The following trains have been cancelled on 24 April and April 25. Train No 56013 Arakkonam - Vellore Cantonment passenger Train scheduled to leave Arakkonam at 13.05 has been cancelled. Train No 56014 Vellore Cantonment - Arakkonam passenger train scheduled to leave Vellore Cantonment at 09.40.

A few trains will also be rerouted, skipping stops in select stations. According to the press release the following trains will run on diverted route.

Train No 12970 Jaipur – Coimbatore express, scheduled to leave Jaipur on 24 April will skip the stoppages at Chennai Central and Arakkonam on 26 April 2018.  Instead, this train will be given a stoppage of 2 minutes at Tiruttani. Train No 12552 Kamakhya – Yesvantpur express, scheduled to leave Kamakhya on 25 April 2018 will skip the stoppage at Chennai Central on 27 April 2018.  Instead, this train will be given a stoppage of 2 minutes at Tiruttani.

Train No 16351 Mumbai CSMT – Nagercoil express, scheduled to leave Mumbai CSMT on April 28 and run via Renigunta, Tiruttani, Arakkonam, Chengalpattu and Villupuram will be diverted to run via Renigunta, Tiruttani, Melpakkam, Katpadi, Tiruvannamalai and Villupuram. Consequently, the train will skip the stoppages at Arakkonam, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Melmaruvathur and Tindivanam on 29 April 2018. Instead, the train will be given a stoppage of 2 minutes at Katpadi.

Train No 12680 Coimbatore – Chennai Central Intercity express scheduled to run via Katpadi and Arakkonam, will be rerouted to run via Katpadi, Melpakkam, Tiruttani and Arakkonam on April 26 and 27. Train No 12610 Bengaluru – Chennai Central express. scheduled to run via Katpadi and Arakkonam, will be rerouted via Katpadi, Melpakkam, Tiruttani and Arakkonam on April 26 and 27.
