Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas will be seen playing a village lad yet again. Pulling off such roles is an easy task for the actor which prompted him to take up the new offer, say sources. After all, he excelled in his performance in the recently released Godha and Ennu Ninte Moideen. In a new film that he has signed, Tovino will be seen playing a rustic village lad. To be directed by Jeo Baby, the film has been scripted by him along with Deepu Pramod.

Speaking about the film, director Jeo Baby has been quoted by the Times of India as saying, “This is a travel movie which also has a generous dose of romance and comedy. It will have a pan Indian story, for which we will shoot across the country. We will start shoot in December.”

According to the director, Tovino’s character is named Blessy in the film. The groundwork for the project is currently on and the director has said that the shooting will commence in December this year. While Tovino has been finalised for the role, the director is in the process of selecting the rest of the cast.

According to the director, the script of the upcoming film requires an American actress to pair up with Tovino Thomas and the search for a suitable leading lady is on. He is reported to have said, “The character is that of an American girl who comes to visit India. We are hoping to finalise an artiste for the part by the end of September.”

It may be mentioned that Jeo Baby and Tovino Thomas had collaborated for the movie Randu Penkuttikal earlier.

Apart from this film, Tovino Thomas has signed a deal to make his debut in the Tamil film industry with Abi & Anu, a bilingual that will be made in Tamil as well as Malayalam.
