Tovino Thomas has bagged a new offer in Mollywood! The star has been signed up to play the lead role in P Balachandran’s film which will be directed by debutant Swapnesh K Nair. The debutant had worked as director Omar Lulu’s chief associate director in the past and the film will be bankrolled by Jayant Mammen. The film’s title is yet to be finalised and is expected to be announced soon.

Besides this film, Tovino also has the Praveen Prabhakaran directorial Kalki. The actor will be seen playing a police officer in it. According to sources in the know, his role will have some similarities with the character Inspector Balram, which Mammootty had immortalised.

Meanwhile, Tovino is busy with his upcoming film And the Oscar Goes to… He is reported to be stationed in Canada where the film’s shooting is on. Tovino plays the role of a struggling filmmaker in it. Pairing up with him are Anu Sithara and an actor from abroad, whose name is not known yet. And The Oscar Goes To has a very talented technical crew with Bijibal roped in to score the music, Madhu Ambat for cinematography and the Oscar winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty for sound mixing and designing.

He also has Madhupal’s directorial Oru Kupprasidha Payyan lined up for release on November 9. Apart from these films, Tovino plays a significant role in the Prithviraj directorial Lucifer, which went on the floors a couple of months ago. He shares the screen space with Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Indrajith and others in the film.

It may be mentioned that Tovino’s Theevandi hit the marquee recently to mixed reviews. Directed by Fellini TP, the film starred Samyuktha Menon and Surabhi Lakshmi as the female lead leads with Saiju Kurup in a pivotal role.

The first look of the actor's next film titled And the Oscar Goes To was released by its director Salim Ahamed recently and has garnered the attention of the cinephiles in a big way already.
