Well, with it being the Christmas weekend, the filmmakers are sure to cash in on the long holidays.
Directed by Aashiq Abu, the film has been written by Syam Pushkaran and Dileesh Nair while Amal Neerad had penned the story. Starring Tovino Thomas in the lead role, the film has Aishwarya Lekshmi playing his lead pair with Harish Uthaman in a crucial role. Mayanadhi is bankrolled by Aashiq Abu and Amal Neerad under the banners OPM Dream Mill Cinemas and Amal Neerad Productions.
Rex Vijayan has set the tunes for this flick with Jayesh Mohan handling the camera, while Saiju Sreedharan has been signed up to edit the movie.
It may be noted that Trisha was approached at first to play the female lead opposite Tovino Thomas but the actor turned down the offer as she had signed the Malayalam movie Hey Jude in which she will pair up with Nivin Pauly. Incidentally, Trisha will be making her debut in the Malayalam film industry with Hey Jude.
Tovino Thomas’s acting debut was with short films and he made his debut as a hero in the feature film ABCD in 2013. He has acted in a slew of films including Ennu Ninte Moideen, Monsoon Mangoes, Ezra, Oru Mexican Aparatha, Godha and Tharangam. The actor will be making his debut in Kollywood with Abi & Anu, a bilingual that will be released in Malayalam under the title Abhiyude Kadha Anuvinteyum. He also has a number of films in his kitty including Aami, Maradona, Luke, and Chengazhi Nambiar among others.
