Commuters can complain when drivers refuse to use the meter or demand high rates.3. TN CM Jayalalithaa has decided not to attend Dr. Kalam’s funeral. Citing health reasons, Jayalalithaa has deputed seven of her senior Ministers to represent her and the TN government at the funeral to be held on Thursday. All liquor shops are to remain closed in Tamil Nadu as a mark of respect for Dr. Kalam.4. The Supreme Court has dismissed a curative petition by the previous UPA government against the commutation of death penalty in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. The petition had said that the three convicts did not deserve any mercy.5.  Twelve caste Hindus in Thoothukudi district have been booked on charges of allegedly attacking Dalits. The incident occurred during temple festival celebrations on Tuesday night. It was alleged that when crackers were celebrated by some Dalits in front of a caste Hindu’s house, some of them began pelting stones in return.
