 1. A bus carrying 73 students  toppled near Palakkarai on the Tiruchy-Chennai bypass on Thursday morning leaving 35 students injured. According to the New Indian Express, the bus overturned while negotiating a sharp turn. The 35 injured students were taken to the nearby hospital. The driver of the bus has been arrested, and a case registered.2. Despite various pleas from advocates and social activists, the Madras High Court has refused to grant a stay against a new rule impounding documents of those motorists flaying the helmet rule in TN. The case has been adjourned to July 24.3. A 14 year-old boy of the Don Bosco Matriculation school died on Thursday after falling from a height of 35 feet. The incident occurred after school hours, when the asbestos sheet broke, the boy fell and sustained head injuries. Taken to the hospital, he however succumbed to his injuries there.4. Fnance Minister O Panneerselvam hit back at DMK chief M Karaunanidhi for his statements on Jayalalithaa’s health. “Should they not know political decency? Expecting political decency from Karunanidhi of course, is wrong,” he said on Wednesday stating that Jayalalithaa had never discussed Karunanidhi’s health in the name of politics, reported Times of India.5. Dhanush-starrer, "Maari", has run into last minute trouble after its overseas premieres were cancelled. The issue appears to have developed after a standoff between the financiers and the labs involved in the movie’s making.6. New stricter rules have been introduced for police personnel deployed for security on CM’s convoy route. The instructions include not speaking or texting on cell phones while waiting on the road for the CM’s convoy to pass.  The personnel have also been told to ensure convoy vehicles are parked properly to prevent any obstruction to the smooth flow of traffic.
