    1. Kitex garments, one of Kerala's largest companies, has planned to field independent candidates for 17 wards of Kizhakambalam panchayat elections. The company’s production unit is situated in this panchayat, about 30 km from Kochi. The company has been facing many issues related to its permanent license. Read full report in Times of India.   2. After the death of a CISF man in a tussle with airport ground staff, the situation is limping back to normalcy. At least one flight has landed since ground staff blocked the runways in protest. The Kerala Vigilance department has given a clean chit to Excise Minister K Babu stating that no concrete evidence has been found against the Minister in the liquor scam. Pesticide free vegetables: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will have a meeting with neighbouring state Chief Ministers to control the export of vegetables with pesticides to Kerala.
