Even after the Supreme Court had made it clear that the Aadhaar card is not compulsory to avail of government subsidies, the AP government has announced that Aadhaar linkage will be compulsory to all government schemes and services in the state in the near future. As a first step, the state has decided to link Aadhaar cards to Primary Mission initiative, including crop loans, input subsidies, incentives and schemes being offered to agriculture and allied sectors.
