This Christmas weekend, three films from the Telugu film industry – Nani’s MCA (Middle Class Abbayi), Akhil Akkineni’s Hello and Allu Sirish’s Okka Kshanam – are gearing up for a release.

If not on the same day, the three films will be out within a gap of one day. According to trade sources, this is not a good trend and people in film industry should consider averting it at any cost if all the three films want to garner good profits at the box office.

It may be mentioned here that a few months ago three Telugu films – Rana Daggubati’s Nene Raju Nene Mantri, Boyapati Srinu directorial Jai Janaki Nayaka and LIE (Love Intelligence Enmity) starring Nithin – hit the marquee around the same time and none of the three films could garner good collections at the box office, despite positive reviews and good word of mouth.

According to trade analysts, a decent interval between film releases should work wonders at the box office but for some reason, the filmmakers are in a hurry to release their films without worrying about the implications it would have at the box office. The rush at the BO does have an impact, for sure.

Yet another point of view that is going around in the tinsel town is that the filmmakers are keen on cashing in on the long weekends, particularly when it happens to be a festive weekend like Christmas, during which moviegoers would throng the theatres to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars in action.

Will the makers of Nani’s MCA (Middle Class Abbayi), Akhil Akkineni’s Hello and Allu Sirish’s Okka Kshanam pay heed to the advice of the trade analysts and space out their release dates?

Well, for that we need to wait and see what happens next.
