AIADMK party organising secretary C Ponnaiyan told TNIE, “We have already appointed our vote canvassers for over 65,000 booths. Just because opposite parties are yet to consider their position and decide on their alliances, we need not wait for it to happen.”

Meanwhile, sources in BJP told TNIE that couple of more appointments will take place soon in the TN BJP ahead of elections.

Till now, BJP has not been able to work out an alliance with other parties. PMK and DMDK have practically left the NDA alliance. DMDK leader Vijayakanth has also not given a final word on the alliance. But the BJP camp is reportedly upbeat about the new appointments.
