Shanshank is all set to direct and produce a film that will have Upendra playing the lead role. Rukmini and Nishvika Naidu have been roped in as the heroines for this venture. The director has revealed that the first look and title of the film will be released on September 18 as a birthday treat for Upendra’s fans.
While Shanshank has said that Upendra will be seen in a new light in this film, the hero has said that the director has come out with a unique screenplay and his creativity is top notch. Both the director as well as the hero are certain that movie buffs are going to love this film.
Upendra’s last film release was I Love You, which hit the marquee in June this year. Starring Upendra and Rachita Ram as the lead pair, the film was directed and produced by Chandru. Sonu Gowda plays a pivotal role in this flick besides Sayaji Shinde, Brahmanandam, Jai Jagadish and Honnavalli Krishna in supporting roles. The technical crew of I Love You included music by Dr Kiran Thotambyle, Indra KM and Aria Dakshin and cinematography by Naveen Kumar. The film was a bilingual that was released in Kannada and Telugu.
Meanwhile, Upendra’s Buddhivantha 2 is also under progress. This film is being directed by DN Maurya. While the title gave rise to speculation that it may be a sequel to the star’s hit movie Buddhivantha that came out in 2008, the director confirmed that it is not so. Upendra will be playing dual roles in this film with Sonal Monteiro and Meghana Raj as the female leads. Aditya has been roped in to play the main villain. Crystal Paark Cinemas is bankrolling the film. Also, the star’s Home Minister has reached the post-production stage, according to sources.
