Basking in the success of his 25th film Maharishi, the title of Mahesh Babu's next with director Anil Ravipudi has been announced to coincide with his father Superstar Krishna’s 75th birthday.

The film has been tilted Sarileru Neekevvaru, and the muhurat happened in a grand style on Saturday at Annapurna Studios, Hyderabad. Darsakendrudu K Raghavendra Rao gave the first clap while Mega Maker Shyamprasad Reddy, switched on the camera. The film will be produced jointly by Mahesh himself, along with Dil Raju and Anil Sunkara.  Plans are on to release the film for Sankranthi next year.  After 1 Nenokkadine in 2014, this will be one more Sankranthi release for Mahesh.

According to sources, it is a revenge drama in which Mahesh Babu plays a cop. This is not the first time Mahesh Babu is playing a cop as he had done such roles in Dookudu, Pokkiri and Aagadu. We also hear that the star will be speaking the Rayalseema dialect and is getting trained by a linguist to get the pronunciation and accent right. And that is not all! Reportedly, he plays a character who suffers from a rare condition known as haemophobia which means he is scared of blood.

The film has Rashmika Mandanna in the lead heroine’s role and veteran actor Vijayashanthi is in talks for a pivotal role. We hear that Jagapathi Babu, the most wanted villain in the south Indian film circuit right now will be playing the antagonist.

Mahesh Babu's 25th film Maharishi got the biggest opening in his career. It was directed by Vamsi Paidipally, best known for directing films like Oopiri and Yevadu. The film shattered every possible record at the box office and has turned out to be the biggest opener of this year. The film talks about the struggles faced by farmers and it follows the same trajectory of Mahesh Babu's previous films, Srimathudu and Bharat Ane Nenu.
