The News Minute | August 1, 2014 | 01:35 pm ISTThe Karnataka government has decided to set up a three member panel of expert gynecologists who will come up with suggestions regarding changes in the present system of testing and treatment of rape victims, states a report by The New India Express.This is being done to ensure that rape victims are treated with care and respect and are not subjected to humiliation and embarrassment. At present, a two-finger test in done to examine rape victims which is considered to be a crude and harsh method. These measures were proposed on Thursday at a meeting of officials from Health, Social Welfare, Women and Child Welfare and Home Departments, further states the report.
