Celebrities are under constant scanner- initially it was just under the media’s hawk-like watch, now it is also the social media.
When it comes to appearance, it is often women who seem to bear the brunt more than their male counterparts. But this time around, Amitabh Bachchan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s similar outfits have given Twitteratis one more reason to troll.
The two leading figures can be seen wearing identical grey shawls, white kurta and pyjama while shaking hands.
Those who were born last week, or have been living under the rock, should be informed that the white-kurta-and-shawl combination almost instantly brings to mind ‘Thakur’ aka Sanjeev Kumar in the Hindi film Sholay.
‘Yeh haath mujhe de de thankur’, had said the infamous Gabbar as he chopped off both of Thakur’s hands. Since then, Thukur’s wardrobe included the humble kurta and sombre shawl.
