Here’s an update on the Puneeth Rajkumar starrer Yuva Ratna. Music director S Thaman has been roped in to compose music for the film. It has been a while since the well-known musician had composed tunes for a Sandalwood film and he is completely elated.

Welcoming Thaman on board, Hombale Films put out a tweet that read, “It is an absolute pleasure to welcome music sensational @MusicThaman on board for #Yuvarathnaa https://youtu.be/3kaPsP3pQ54 @PuneethRajkumar @SanthoshAnand15 @sayyeshaa @Dhananjayaka @realradikaa @VKiragandur @hombalefilms.”

The tweet contained a link to a short video that showed the film’s director Santosh Ananddram working along with Thaman in a studio.

Santosh Ananddram also tweeted, “Welcome On-board S Thaman for #Yuvarathnaa - Puneeth Rajkumar | Santhosh Ananddram ... https://youtube/3kaPsP3pQ54 welcome brother Thaman S To Yuvarathnaa Powerfull Audio On the way.”

Producer Karthik Gowda confirmed that Thaman has finished scoring music for three songs already and that there would be five to six songs in the album. It may be noted here that Thaman had earlier set the tunes for Puneeth Rajkumar’s 2016 film Chakravyuha and shares a good rapport with the star.

Puneeth will be seen as a college student in Yuva Ratna, we hear. The title comes with the tagline ‘Power of Youth’ which gives an indication that the film will have a political touch. The star cast also includes Prakash Raj in an important role and sources say he may appear either as a college principal or professor. Dhananjay will be seen as the main villain in Yuva Ratna while Radhika Sarathkumar has been roped in for a pivotal role. The film has Sayyesha playing the female lead, this being her first film in the Kannada film industry.

Reports say that the next schedule of this Puneeth Rajkumar starrer is expected to begin later this month. Yuva Ratna is likely to hit the marquee later this year but the release date is yet to be finalised.
