Telugu star Rana Daggubati, who is an established actor in the industry and has also forayed into Hindi, is all set to make his Hollywood debut soon.

According to sources, Rana is in talks with the makers of a film for a role. However, nothing has been finalised yet. The Baahubali star already has a list of films in the pipeline including Haathi Mere Saathi, a trilingual in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, Houseful 4 in Hindi and Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta in Tamil where he plays a cameo. Meanwhile, there is news doing the rounds that his Telugu film with Venu Udugula has been shelved for various reasons.

Haathi Mere Saathi, a trilingual film, is keeping Rana Daggubati busy. Currently, the film crew is camping in the jungles of Kerala, where some scenes of the movie are being shot. The movie is titled Kaadan in Tamil and Aranya in Telugu.

Directed by Prabhu Solomon, known for Tamil movies such as Mynaa and KumkiHaathi Mere Saathi will see a bulked-up Rana playing the role of a mahout. Apart from Rana, the film has Zoya Hussain, Kalki Koechlin, Vishnu Vishal and Pulkit Samrat in the lead roles.

Haathi Mere Saathi is bankrolled by Inder Singh Bariya, Omshankar Bhagat, Ajay Rai and Sushil Tirwadkar under the banner Trinity Pictures and will be distributed by Eros International. Shantanu Moitra is the music composer for this film and the sound designing has been done by the Academy award winning sound engineer, Resul Pookutty.

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror earlier, Rana had mentioned the background work he had undertaken to prepare for this movie.

“I’ll be taking 15-20 days before the shoot to stay with the elephants in the jungle and get familiar with them before I start filming. At the same time, we are also doing a bunch of workshops because the story is inspired by two events, so we are trying to get as authentic as we can in the filming process,” he was quoted as saying.
