Tamil star Vijay has a huge fan following not only in Tami Nadu but in the neighboring states – Andhra and Telangana as well. The dubbed versions of his Tamil films have been released in the Telugu states in the past and have done well. Following this, the makers of Sarkar have decided to release the Telugu dubbed version of the film in Andhra and Telangana.

The rights have been bagged by Ashok Vallabhaneni and it is now gearing up for a massive release. The film’s title in Tamil as well as Telugu will remain Sarkar, confirm sources. It may be noted here that Vijay’s last release Mersal was released in Telugu under the title Adirindhi and did well at the box office.

Sarkar is directed by AR Murugadoss and bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures. Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman is scoring music for this magnum opus with lyricist Vivek penning the lyrics, Girish Gangadharan wielding the camera and A Sreekar Prasad editing it. Incidentally, AR Murugadoss and Vijay are teaming up for the third time after the success of Thuppaki and Kaththi and fans are hopeful that the duo would score a hat trick at the box office with Sarkar.

The film has two heroines – Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar – in the star cast. Those in the supporting roles include Arjun Sarja, Prem Kumar, Yogi Babu, Radha Ravi, and Pala. Karuppiah. Touted to be an action thriller, it is written jointly by B Jeyamohan and AR Murugadoss with the latter wielding the megaphone.

It may be noted here that the theatrical rights of Sarkar in Kerala and Karnataka states have also been sold out for a big price. Sarkar is scheduled to be a Diwali release this year.
