A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped in Ramareddy mandal in Telangana's Kamareddy District on Sunday.

According to the police, the survivor and her husband had given a loan of Rs 20,000 around three months ago, to one Vishnu. The couple are farmers.

On Sunday afternoon, Vishnu and his friend Raju called the victim's husband and said that they were in the mandal, and would repay the money.

However, the husband could not travel, due to which he sent his wife to collect the money, according to the police.

The survivor reached the agreed spot on Sunday, where the two accused convinced her to travel to another location. They claimed that they had to collect the money from there, and asked her to accompany them.

The police also said that the accused bought alcohol on the way, which they claimed that they would drink, after repaying the debt.

They then allegedly proceeded to take her to an isolated area and forced her to consume the alcohol. Once she fell unconscious, the survivor claimed that the duo raped her.

She was then abandoned after the incident, and called her husband after regaining consciousness.

The couple immediately went to the police station and filed a complaint, following which the woman was shifted to a hospital for treatment, and medical examination.

"We have registered an FIR, and are awaiting the results of the medical test. A case has been registered under 376 D (Gangrape) of the IPC. While we have identified the residence of Vishnu, the duo are absconding," SI Vinay Kumar from the Ramareddy police station told TNM.
