In a shocking incident, pictures of the SSC English paper-1 question paper in Khammam began circulating on Whatsapp on Tuesday, even as the exam was going on.
The Hindu reported that pictures of “Section-A and Section-C” of the paper surfaced on WhatsApp, less than half an hour before its end, triggering a demand from student unions for a thorough probe.
Many stated that the paper was 'leaked', following which the authorities clarified that it was not a leak, but would be considered malpractice.
Addressing the media, Collector DS Lokesh Kumar said that stringent action would be taken against those involved in the incident.
“It was flashed in the electronic media. We immediately enquired into the issue. On every question paper, the hall ticket number of the student will be written and the question paper that was circulated did not have the same. We have registered a complaint with the District Collector and the Superintendent of Police,” S Vijayalaxmi Bai, District Education Officer, Khammam told Telangana Today.
The authorities have also clarified that there would be no re-examination.
The police have registered a case at the three town station, and are investigating the matter.
