Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday met with Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy in Bengaluru to discuss various initiatives taken up by the ruling TRS government.

Taking to Twitter, KTR said, "In Bengaluru, had a breakfast meeting with Hon’ble CM Karnataka Sri HD Kumaraswamy garu. Shared the details of various ongoing initiatives in Telangana such as Mission Bhagiratha, Haritha Haaram etc. Was very impressed with the CM’s humility and simplicity."

The two leaders are also understood to have discussed latest political developments. The duo also visited the sets of Kannada movie, Seetharama Kalyana, after the meeting, in which Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumar is playing an important role.

This comes less than a week after the fathers of both the political leaders met in Hyderabad as former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda called on Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

The Janata Dal-Secular leader, who was on a private visit to Hyderabad, met the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief at the latter's camp office in Begumpet. The Chief Minister's Office described it as a courtesy call.

The two leaders are understood to have discussed latest political developments and the progress in floating a Federal Front.

The TRS President met Deve Gowda and Kumaraswamy in April to discuss his proposed front at the national level.

KCR had come to hold talks with Deve Gowda at his residence in Padmanabhanagar regarding his new effort to form a Federal Front with non-BJP and non-Congress political parties ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

“I am proposing for a movement to bring about qualitative change in the country. These two systems called the Congress party and BJP have ruled the country for more than 65 years and have failed miserably in delivering,” KCR said at the time.

KCR, who is taking the plunge into national politics, had earlier announced he would hold a series of meetings at the national level with various organisations, associations and individuals to take forward the idea of the Federal Front.
