The Telangana Congress on Thursday lashed out at the Telangana government’s Budget, and said that it was ‘full of lies’ and ‘false figures’.

Speaking to reporters, Dr Sravan Dasoju, spokesperson for the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), alleged that state Budget for the financial year 2018-19 was “full of lies and completely bogus, with false figures and cooked up statistics.”

Dr Sravan alleged that KCR had conspired and suspended Congress MLAs from the Assembly, so that he could ‘escape’ from a democratic debate on the Budget.

“KCR conveniently forgets the fact that it is because of the Congress party’s hard work, that he is able to introduce such a rich budget today worth Rs.1,74,000 crores. While KCR conveniently talks about the financial condition of Telangana, he hides the fact that he borrowed almost Rs.1.5 lakh crore in debt,” Sravan said.

“Almost 61 hours-worth of Assembly sessions spread across 13 days are only misused to praise KCR, but not to democratically debate and discuss any public issue,” he added.

Sravan also slammed KCR for passing eleven vital bills including those pertaining to Panchayat Raj, Private Universities, assigned lands and others issues, which were introduced without the presence of the main opposition.

Addressing reporters, Sravan also released the first ‘People’s Charge Sheet’ declaring Telangana government’s Budget as a ‘bogus budget’.

Sravan also said that the Congress would release a detailed document soon, with facts and figures on the Budget, exposing the misdeeds of government.

“KCR’s Government made several promises in the manifesto and he failed to implement them. But ironically, KCR has forgotten to implement what has been promised in the very abode of democracy, the Legislative Assembly. The Budget, according to Article 112 of the Indian Constitution, has constitutional sanctity and unfortunately, KCR government is disregarding the constitutional mandate,” Sravan said.

“Budgetary manipulations have crossed all limits as even Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) found fault with the state government and accused it of fudging figures and showing loans as revenue, just to create a hype of better financial health of the state,” the Congress leader added.
