Actor Sivakarthikeyan unveiled the teaser of his upcoming production film, Vaazhl, which is directed by Arun Prabhu Purushothaman who made his directorial debut with his critically-acclaimed film Aruvi. The film marks the third production venture from Sivakarthikeyan’s production house following Kanaa and Nenjamunudu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja.

Toted to be a travelogue music drama, starring nonagenarian actor SN Bhatt the shooting of the film wrapped up recently. It was shot in 75 days and in more than 100 locations. While Arun Prabhu told Cinemaexpress that it's not a single person's story. "There are several important characters. All these roles will be played by newcomers. The film is about their dynamics." The film will have music by Pradeep Kumar, Shelly has been signed for cinematography and Raymond Derrick Crasta will be in charge of editing both of whom had worked in Aruvi as well.

Director Arun's first film impressed critics and audiences alike. The film had also won over superstar Rajinikanth who after watching the film in a private screening, apparently called and spoke to the director congratulating him. The film featured debutante Aditi Balan in the titular role.Aruviis a sociopolitical drama that revolves around a girl who rebels to get accepted by a society that has problems with the way she is. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, it released in cinemas after a successful run at several film festivals across the globe. It had its world premiered at 16th Shanghai International Film Festival last year and was even screened at Mumbai Film Festival in 2016.
