Coinciding with the International Women’s Day, the teaser of the Nayanthara starrer Karthavyam, the Telugu version of the Tamil film Aramm, which turned out to be a blockbuster hit  was released on March 8th, 2018 and it has gone viral. A heroine centric film, it has Nayan playing the lead role. Reports are that the actor will be seen playing the District Collector in this flick. In the teaser, she can be heard mouthing the dialogue: “Prajalaku Emi Avasaramo, Ade Chattam Kavali Kani, Chattanni Munde Tayaru Chesi Danni Prajala Meeda Ruddakudadu,” clearly indicating what the film is all about. Yes, she will be seen fighting for a cause that will be beneficial for the people.

Interestingly, a film with the same title was released several years ago featuring Vijayashanthi and she went on to win the National Award for Best Actress for her performance in it. Karthavyam will be a political drama conveying a social message.

Produced by Sharrath Marar and R Ravindran and directed by Gopi Nainar, the film has music by Ghibran. Om Prakash is the cinematographer. Vignesh, Ramesh, Sunu Lakshmi, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Ramachandran Durairaj and PV Anand Krishnan are playing other important roles.

While the Tamil version hit the silver screens on 10th November 2017, its Telugu version Karthavyam will be out at the theatres on March 16th.

Aramm won quite a few awards including the 2018 Ananda Vikatan Award for Best Film, Best Director and Best Actress and the Best Film and Best Director award at the Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards and looks like it will bag many more!
