Not long ago, there was an announcement that Mammootty has inked the deal to star in the period film titled Kunjalimarakkar IV.

Interestingly, around the same time, there was another news that the other stalwart in the Malayalam film industry, Mohanlal, will be playing the same role in a film. While Mammootty’s film will be directed by Santosh Sivan, Priyadarshan is the director for the Mohanlal-starrer. There is a possibility of both these films hitting the marquee around the same time as well.

Setting the ball in motion already, the makers of Mammootty’s Kunjalimarakkar IV have decided to release the teaser next month. Work is already in progress and reports say that noted cameraman Robie Varghese Raj has conceived the idea for it.

The film will be bankrolled by August Cinemas in association with the ICL. According to reports, the teaser will be attached to the Tovino Thomas-starrer Theevandi, which is scheduled for release in July. It will then be released online. Theevandi, incidentally, is a production venture from August Cinemas. After the theatrical release, the teaser will be out online, we hear. To be made on huge budget, the film will have a bevy of stars in the cast. Details about it will be revealed shortly.

Earlier, the plan was to release the teaser as Eid special this month, but the makers decided to do it next month following the lead star’s busy schedule.

Mammootty, one of the busiest stars in the film industry, had completed a schedule of Mamankam and is abroad on a vacation. Soon after this return next week, he will be joining the sets of the Telugu biopic Yaatra, which is based on the life of the late chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Rajashekar Reddy.
