Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Narmalli Sivaprasad is in the news again, this time after he attended Parliament on Thursday, dressed up as Adolf Hitler.

The actor-turned-politician, who is known to dress up as various characters as a form of protest, turned up sporting the mustache, generally associated with Hitler, along with a brown shirt, even posing for cameras while doing the Nazi salute.

Speaking to reporters as Hitler, the MP said, "I started as a soldier in the German army and earned great respect but I was greedy for power and as a result, became responsible for World War 2, which resulted in the death of several crore people and I also killed myself.”

"My suggestion to Modi is not to go down that way. He has already cheated Andhra Pradesh and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. If he doesn't repent, then he will see his downfall," he added.

This is not the first time that the TDP MP has caught the attention of the media and the public with his unique and sometimes bizarre forms of protest.

He shot to prominence in 2013-14 after he flogged himself outside Parliament to protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Since then, he has donned various avatars from Lord Krishna to Mahatma Gandhi, to a tantric and even dressing up once as former Andhra CM and TDP founder NT Rama Rao.

The MP from Chittoor joined TDP in 1995. He became the Information and Culture Minister in 1999. He was also elected as MP from Chittoor for two consecutive terms in 2009 and 2014.

Siva worked in couple of Telugu films as a character actor and villain.

The TDP and BJP have been at loggerheads ever since the former party left the NDA coalition, citing the latter’s reluctance to grant Special Category Status (SCS) to the state.

Just earlier this week, a bitter spat broke out on camera between senior TDP leaders and BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao during a discussion at Rail Bhavan in New Delhi on granting a separate rail zone for Andhra Pradesh with its headquarters at Visakhapatnam.
