Bollywood director Kunal Kohli will be making his debut in the Telugu film industry with Next Enti. While the title of the film was announced on Diwali, it has got itself a release date. Yes, it will be out at the theatres on December 7. Putting out a tweet on this, the director wrote:

The film has Tammannah playing the female lead with Sundeep Kishan and Navdeep as the male leads. Next Enti is based on the Hindi flick Hum Tum. Incidentally, Hum Tum was based on the American rom-com When Harry Met Sally.

The Hindi version of the film, which released in 2004, starred Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji as the lead pair with Kirron Kher, Rati Agnihotri and Rishi Kapoor in supporting roles. Hum Tum fetched Saif Ali Khan the National Film Award for Best Actor in the year 2005. It also won several Filmfare Awards including the Best Director - Kunal Kohli, Best Actress - Rani Mukerji, Best Performance in a Comic Role -Saif Ali Khan, Best Female Playback Singer - Alka Yagnik and Best Scene of the Year.

The shooting of Next Enti began several months ago with a major portion of it shot in London. The title of the film was revealed on November 8 to coincide with the Diwali festival. It is in the final stages of production and the promos would begin soon as the release date is nearing.

Incidentally, Next Enti will clash with the Sumanth starrer Subrahmanyapuram and Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas’s Kavacham at the box office.
