Tamannaah seems all set to foray into the Malayalam film industry! Reports say that she has been signed to play the female lead in the movie Central Jaylil Pretham. Sandhya Mohan will be wielding the megaphone for this venture. Reports indicate that Central Jaylil Pretham is a horror comedy that is set in the backdrop of a prison. The film is produced under the banner Indian Arts Studio. Sandhya Mohan has written the story as well while Amal K Joby will pen the screenplay and dialogues.

Incidentally, Tamannaah had played the title role in Devi and its sequel Devi 2, both of which belonged to the horror genre.

The actor is expecting the release of the Telugu movie That is Mahalakshmi, which is the remake of the critically acclaimed Bollywood flick Queen. The actor is reprising the role done by Kangana Ranaut in the original version. Queen, released in 2014, was directed by Vikas Bahl. It had Kangana playing the female lead with Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon in pivotal roles. The film went on to win a slew of awards, including the National Award for Best Actress for Kangana and Best Feature Film in Hindi. The other prestigious awards the movie bagged include BIG Star Entertainment Awards, Filmfare Awards, Global Indian Music Academy Awards, International Indian Film Academy Awards, Mirchi Music Awards, Stardust Awards, among others.

Tamannaah will also be seen in the Telugu magnum opus Sye Raa, sharing screen space with Chiranjeevi, and the Tamil film titled Action with Vishal in the lead. She also has another Tamil film, Petromax, in her kitty. Directed by Rohin Venkatesan, the shooting for Petromax was completed in 42 days. Leo John Paul has edited the film with Ghibran composing the music. Petromax is the remake of the Telugu film Anando Brahma.
