Hyderabad-based startup incubator T-Hub has won the One Globe Award for excellence in creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem at the seventh annual edition of One Globe Forum held at New Delhi.

T-Hub was launched in November 2015 with the idea of helping technology-related startups by giving them a working space and access to mentorship, networking opportunities, and workshops for a nominal fee.  A partnership between the government and three academic institutions — IIIT-Hyderabad, ISB and Nalsar – T-Hub is currently the largest incubator in the country.

The two-year-old incubator has been associated with 835 startups, has on board 117 mentors, has enabled 32 community and 14 international partnerships, has conducted 13 startup-oriented programs and has seen 57 of its startups raise $33.6 million in funding.

It is in the process of building the second phase, a 360,000 sq ft facility, which is touted to become the second largest startup incubator in the world.

The One Globe Forum focuses on ideas, issues and impact of the government's ambitious agenda to transform India into a 21st century knowledge economy through its initiatives like ‘Digital India’, ‘Make in India’ and ‘Smart Cities’. The forum has interests in education, consumer and business information sectors.

It has various categories such as One Globe Award for Enabling a Green Environment, One Globe Award for Facilitating Skill Development to Build a 21st Century Knowledge Economy, One Globe Award for Excellence in Enabling a Digital Economy, One Globe Award for Excellence in Research & Development, One Globe Award for Smart Cities to build a 21st Century Knowledge Economy, One Globe Award for Entrepreneurship to build a 21st Century Knowledge Economy and the One Globe Award for Social Impact to build a 21st Century Knowledge Economy

The forum awarded Ramesh Sippy, Indian film director and producer for excellence in entrepreneurship. Anil Agarwal, chairman of Vedanta Resources, won the award for excellence in creating social impact.

Dell EMC won an award for research and development, solar energy company Mahindra Susten won the award for excellence in enabling a green environment.

The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation won the award for excellence in building smart cities, while National Bulk Handling Corporation won the award for excellence in enabling a digital economy.
