 BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Thursday claimed that the Lodha committee's judgement on "two officials of the Chennai Super Kings" was "excessively harsh on Tamil pride and ought to be reviewed."In a press release, Swamy wrote that Justice Lodha enjoyed an enourmous and well deserved reputation in the country while adding that a suspension for two years was too harsh.Swamy also referred to a 'Dubai gang' while defending ICC chief N Srinivasan. "Tamilians also hold the ICC chairman Mr N. Srinivasan in high esteem for his courageous isolation from cricket of the 'Dubai gang' operating in Mumbai, in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere," he added.The Lodha Committee had earlier suspended Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra for life with regard to cricket-related activities and also suspended the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals' franchise for a period of two years.Meiyappan and Kundra are associated with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) franchises respectively. The committee added that the duo had been found guilty of bringing disrepute to the game and were found guilty of breaching the IPL's operational rules."Hence, on behalf of the nationalist Tamilians, I shall be filing an application in the public interest before the Justice Loda Committee to review and reconsider this part of his order," Swamy added.Subramanian Swamy invokes "Tamilian pride" to argue against suspension of CSK.
