It’s been earlier reported that veteran actor Suresh Gopi is playing an important role in the upcoming Nithin Renji Panicker directorial. Revealing some details about the actor’s role in the film, Nithin said in an interview to the Times of India, “I am hoping to give the audience a power-packed performance from Suresh Gopi through the film. His is a strong character, who has two shades. It will be a treat for all his fans.”

Earlier there were reports that the film will be a sequel to the 1997 movie Lelam, which had Suresh Gopi in the lead, but the director has confirmed that it is not. He has said that Lelam 2 is also very much on cards and his dad Renji Panicker will be scripting it. However, it will be delayed and commence sometime later. Nithin made his directorial debut with Kasaba, with Mammootty in the lead. The film had run into some controversy at the time, with a lot of criticism coming for its misogynistic content.

Nithin’s new film will have another veteran actor -- Lal -- in an important role. It is touted to be a complete family drama. The cast also includes Zaya David, Muthumani, IM Vijayan, Sujith Sankar, Alencier, and Kannan Rajan P Dev. Joby George is bankrolling the film under his banner Goodwill Entertainments. National award-winning cinematographer Nikhil S Praveen will crank the camera with Mansoor Muthootti doing the editing and Ranjin Raj composing the tunes.

Suresh Gopi is currently busy with the Anoop Sathyan directorial that is not yet titled. The film is produced by Dulquer Salmaan under his banner Wayfarer Films and he plays the lead role in it. Anoop Sathyan is also scripting the film. The technical crew includes Alphonse for music and Mukesh Muraleedharan for cinematography.
