Mohanlal and son Pranav Mohanlal were roped in for Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham by director Priyadarshan. While Mohanlal plays the title role in this historical, his son will be playing his younger version. This has created a big hype for the film.

And now we hear that another father – son duo in the Malayalam film industry are getting ready to work together. Sources in the know say that veteran actor Suresh Gopi and son Gokul Suresh will be sharing screen space in a film. While the son would be seen as the main lead in Lelam 2, the father will be playing a character artiste. Suresh Gopi’s role in it has been revealed to be Anakkattil 'Chackochi' Jacob Stephen. Incidentally, it is the same character he had essayed in Lelam way back in 1997.

The film is being directed by Nithin Renji Panicker and has been written by Renji Panicker. Lelam 2 is the sequel to Suresh Gopi's hit family drama Lelam directed by Joshiy. Besides, Suresh Gopi and Gokul Suresh, the film also stars the late actor MG Soman, Siddique, N F Varghese, Nandini, Maniyanpilla Raju, Vijayakumar, Spadikam George, and Kaviyoor Renuka in supporting roles. Reports are that Lelam 2 will be about the enmity between two liquor business groups, the Aanakkattil family and Kadayadi family.

At present, Gokul Suresh is busy with the Malayalam movie Soothrakkaran. In this film, which is directed by Anil Raj, he shares the screen space with Maniyan Pilla Raju’s son Niranj. Sources in the know say that Soothrakkaran is a thriller with all the elements added to attract the family audiences. Besides this film, Gokul has a number of projects including, Sayana Varthakal, Ulta, Ilayaraja and an untitled film with debutant Sanjith Chandrasenan.
