Suniel Shetty has been signed up for a role in a crossover film. The Bollywood star will be seen playing a cop in an entertainer that will have Manchu Vishnu in the lead role. The film will have Kajal Aggarwal and Ruhani Singh playing the female leads. Sources in the know say that Suniel was very impressed with the way his character was etched out that he decided to hop on board. Jeffery Chin is wielding the megaphone for this venture which is being bankrolled by Manchu Vishnu’s home banner.

Off late, Suniel Shetty is keen on experimenting with his roles and is being very selective about the character he chooses. The star will be making his debut in the Malayalam film industry with Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham. Mohanlal is playing the title role in this film which will have his son Pranav making a cameo appearance. This historical also has Ashok Selvan, Manju Warrier, Arjun Sarja, Mukesh and Keerthy Suresh in pivotal roles.

Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is based on the true life of Kunjali Marakkar IV, the most popular of the Marakkars. The film is directed by award winning director Priyadarshan and is produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T. Kuruvilla and C.J. Roy under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment on a budget costing Rs 100 crore.

The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Tirru and editor MS Ayyappan Nair. Sabu Cyril was signed up to take care of the art department and extravagant sets including two massive ships which were erected at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where major part of the shooting took place.

The shooting of this magnum opus has been completed already but its post-production will take around six months due to large amount of VFX involved. Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is set for release next year.
