The Bollywood actor shared a photo of the celebrations in the sets of the Malayalam film ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’.

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal was awarded one of the highest civilian honors in the country - the Padma Bhushan - recently and that called for a celebration on the sets of his upcoming film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham. Celebrating the occasion was the Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, who plays an important role in the film.

Sharing a photo on his Instagram account, Suniel Shetty wrote: “On the sets of 'MARKAAR' celebrating PadmaBhushan Mohanlal sir, the genius sabucyril and my favourite hera pheri man Priyadarshan sir... An opportunity to work ... with the best in the business of entertainment... Blessed!!! (sic). ”

Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is a star studded film with some of the top actors in the country, making it to the cast. The film has Prabhu, Suneil Shetty, Manju Warrier, Arjun Sarja, Mukesh and Keerthy Suresh in pivotal roles besides some Chinese and British actors. Veteran actor Madhu will be seen as Kunjali Marakkar 1 in this film.

National Award winning art director Sabu Cyril is taking care of the art department and extravagant sets have been erected at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, where the shooting commenced. He got erected a huge ship where some important portions of the film are being canned. The film’s technical crew also includes cinematographer Tirru and editor MS Ayyappan Nair.

Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, made on a budget of Rs 100 crore, will be produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T Kuruvilla and CJ Roy under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment. The film is based on the true life of Kunjali Marakkar IV. The title ‘Kunjali Marakkar’ was bestowed on naval chiefs during the 16th century who fought valiantly against the Portuguese army. There were four Kunjali Marakkars during that era, of which the fourth is the most valiant and popular.

Reports are that the shooting of this magnum opus is planned to be completed by March or April this year and its post production will take around six months due to large amount of VFX involved. Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is set for release next year.
