Following the release of Raghava Lawrencce’s Kanchana 3, Tamil cinema is gearing up for a horror-comedy yet again. The industry grapevine is that filmmaker Sundar C has already commissioned the third part in his highly successful horror-comedy Aranmanai franchise.
The first part in the franchise released in 2014 and it starred Vinay, Hansika and Andrea Jeremiah in the lead roles. Sundar roped in Siddharth and Trisha for the sequel which went on to mint big bucks despite mostly negative reviews. The buzz is that the script of the third part has already been locked and the casting process is already underway.
Currently busy wrapping up the yet-untitled action film featuring Vishal and Tamannaah Bhatia, Sundar C is expected to commence work on Aranmanai 3 in the next couple of months. A source close to Sundar told media: “He is expected to make an official announcement regarding Aranmanai 3 as soon as he is relieved of Vishal’s project.”
There are already rumours doing the rounds that Sundar might bring Vishal into Aranmanai franchise but it is yet to be officially announced.
Sundar’s last release was Simbu starrer Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, which vanished without a trace at the box-office. He recently returned from Turkey after shooting a 40-day schedule for his next film which is believed to be high on action.
Apparently, a Boeing aircraft was hired for a high-octane action sequence for the film’s climax. It may be noted, Vishal was severely injured while shooting an action sequence for the film choreographed by Anbariv.
The actor got tossed along with ATV bike and sustained minor injuries. The film, produced R Ravindran of Trident Arts, also stars Malayalam actor Aishwarya Lekshmi and Jagapathi Babu as the antagonist.
