Mohanlal is currently stationed in Mumbai where the shooting for his upcoming film Neerali is in progress. Directed by Ajoy Varma, the film has Mohanlal playing the lead and his look in the movie has gone viral already.

While the shooting is in progress, there are reports doing the rounds that the Kannada star Sudeep is all set to make his debut in the Malayalam film industry with Neerali. Though not a new face for Malayalam film buffs, as his films like Eega/Naan Ee and Baahubali are big hits already, Sudeep hasn’t acted first-hand in a Malayalam film till date.

When asked about Sudeep’s presence in Neerali, one of the producers of the film is reported to have said that the news is merely a rumour. Sudeep hasn’t been approached for Neerali, we hear. However, the team is scouting for a suitable Bollywood star to play a pivotal role in the film and will sign the deal very soon.

The first look poster of the film had showed Mohanlal looking dashing in a leather jacket and carrying a shoulder bag. The actor had worked hard to lose weight for one of his roles in Odiyan and it appears that he is maintaining the same for this film. The film is touted to be a travel movie.

Neerali stars Mohanlal and Parvatii Nair as the lead pair, with Suraj Venjaramoodu, Saikumar, Meera Jasmine and Dileesh Pothan also included in the star cast. The film is produced by Santhosh T Kuruvilla, John Thomas and Mibu Jose Nettikadan under the banner Moonshot Entertainment.

Stephen Devassy is composing music for this venture with Santosh Thundiyil cranking the camera and its director Ajoy Varma taking care of the editing. The shooting for the flick is currently on in Mumbai and the team has plans to can some important scenes in Pune as well in the next schedule.

Neerali is likely to hit the silver screens on May 4 to cash in on the summer vacation season.
