Versatile actor and director V Ravichandran is currently directing the movie Ravi Bopanna. The film stars Kavya Shetty in the lead role with Mohan, Lakshman, Jai Jagadish, Ravi Shankar Gowda and Ramakrishna forming the rest of the star cast.

An interesting addition to the star cast is Kiccha Sudeep who will be making a cameo appearance. Reports say that he will be playing an advocate in the movie. On working in the Ravichandran directorial again after Apoorva, Sudeep told TNIE in an interview, “In fact, I have got the opportunity to work under Ravichandran before his children (Manoranjan and Vikram), and I feel blessed. He is a true inspiration to so many directors. I wish to see the old Ravichandran back, and to do the kind of movies he has done before.”

On roping in Sudeep for the cameo, Ravichandran said, “It’s a pleasure for me to be directing an actor like him. He just gets into any character,” adding that Sudeep’s appearance in the climax will be a pivotal point in the film.

The shooting for Ravi Bopanna will begin in Bengaluru and then proceed to Coorg where a major portion is likely to be canned.

Meanwhile, Sudeep is awaiting the release of Pailwaan. He plays a boxer and wrestler in this flick and being his first-ever sports drama, the actor underwent a lot of training to learn the nuances of the martial art. He flew down to Thailand where he went through rigorous training under the guidance of some experts.

Produced and directed by S Krishna, the film marks the second time collaboration between Sudeep and the director after the massive success of Hebbuli last year. Incidentally, Krishna’s wife Swapna will be making her debut as a producer with Pailwaan by bankrolling it under the banner RRR Productions. Karunakar is cranking the camera for this film.
