The first single from the Kannada movie 99, ‘Heege Doora’, was released recently and is going viral. Composed by Arjun Janya, the song has been rendered by Vijay Prakash. Interestingly, the song is being appreciated not only by film and music buffs but by celebs as well.
Kichcha Sudeep, who never hesitates to appreciate the efforts of his counterparts in the film industry, took to Twitter to praise the music and the lyrics. He tweeted, “Simply superb.. The 99 album will have seven songs in total and the filmmakers plan to release every single separately as a part of the promos. It must be mentioned that 99 is noted music director Arjun Janya’s 100th film.
99, a remake of the hit Tamil film 96, stars Ganesh and Bhavana as the lead pair, with Hemanth and Samiksha playing their younger versions. Directed by Preetham Gubbi, the film’s cinematography is handled by Santhosh Rai Pathaje. The shooting of the film is currently going on, with the team intending to shoot a song at some picturesque locations in Himachal Pradesh. Bankrolled under the Ramu Enterprises banner, the film is set for release in May this year, we hear.
96 turned out to be one of the biggest hits in Kollywood last year, following which its Telugu and Kannada remake rights were soon lapped up. Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha as the lead pair, 96 released on October 4, receiving widespread appreciation from film buffs, critics and film personalities. It is a C Prem Kumar directorial bankrolled by Nandagopal under the Madras Enterprises banner.
The Telugu version of 96 will have Sharwanand and Samantha Akkineni playing the lead pair. To be directed by C Prem Kumar himself, the project is set to go on the floors by the end of this month.
