Frustrated after being stranded in a stationary train for close to an hour, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy chose to walk like a common man for some distance before being picked him up near the Pettal Railway Station.

Chandy on his way back to the capital got off Maveli Express in Pettah Railway Station, where the train had been stationary for more than 40 minutes. The CM had been travelling from Malappuram where he was campaigning for his party as local civic polls are three months away. He decided to get off the trainin order to be on time for his cabinet meeting.

The reason for the unnatural delay is due to a snag due to which a different train got immobile in Thiruvananthapuram.

Speaking to the media, a railway official said that they wanted the CM to get off on Platform 1 due to security reasons but it was already occupied by the train facing a snag.

The arrangements for his arrival were made in the Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station where he was scheduled to arrive and head to the secretariat which is just three kilometers away from where the CM got off.
