The South Indian Film association conducted a celebrity cricket tournament called Natchathira Cricket earlier this year in a bid to raise funds for constructing the Nadigar Sangam building.

Recently, a section of members of the Sangam had made allegations that there was corruption to the tune of Rs. 3 crore from the star cricket funds and that many promises made during the polls had not been fulfilled.

Refuting allegations that the Nadigar Sangam had indulged in corruption, the association secretary, actor Vishal, said that the accounts were at the sangam office for anyone to see and that the allegations were baseless.

Facing criticism that the funds have been misused, the Nadigar Sangam on Monday released the expense accounts for the star cricket fundraiser through its website.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, president of the Nadigar Sangam, Nassar said that he and his team had been "extremely careful and transparent from the very start. We collected over Rs 13 crore from the star cricket tournament and we have the accounts for spending on even a stapler pin.”
