Two recent Telugu film releases in the US box office have had totally different results. While expectations were very high on the Nithin starrer Srinivasa Kalyanam, it failed to impress the audiences in the US.

According to reports, Srinivasa Kalyanam managed to collect $62,334 through its premiere. Written and directed by Satish Vegesna, who shot to limelight with the hit movie Shatamanam Bhavathi, the romantic entertainer was bankrolled by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film has Raashi Khanna playing the lead opposite Nithin, with Prakash Raj, Nandita Shwetha, Rajendra Prasad, Sithara, Vidyullekha Raman and Jayasudha in supporting roles.

Nithin’s debut as hero was with the 2003 release Dil, which was producer Dil Raju’s debut production venture. It was the biggest hit in both their careers, because of which the expectation levels were high for Srinivasa Kalyanam.

On the other hand, the other release, Goodachari, is doing well at the US box office. According to trade reports, it is all set to become hero Adivi Sesh’s biggest hit in the US. The film, starring Adivi Sesh and Sobhita in the lead roles, has had an impressive opening. According to reports, the film’s first weekend cumulative gross stood at $414k.

Goodachari is directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka and bankrolled jointly by Abhishek Picture, People Media Factory and Vista Dream Merchants. A spy thriller, it has all the elements of an entertainer – romance, action and emotions. The hero Adivi Sesh himself has penned the story while the dialogues are written by Abburi Ravi and screenplay is by Sashi Kiran Tikka. Prakash Raj, Vennela Kishore, Madhu Shalini, Ravi Prakash, Supriya Yarlagadda, Rakesh Varre and Anish Kuruvilla form the rest of the star cast. Sricharan Pakala has composed music for this flick with Shaneil Deo wielding the camera and Garry Bh editing it. The film hit the silver screens worldwide on August 3.
