Late actor Sridevi’s film Mom, a crime thriller, is set for release in China on March 22 this year. Hitting the marquee on July 7, 2017 in India first, the National Award winning film was later released in various regions, including the US, UK, Singapore, Poland, Russia, Czechoslovakia and the Middle East, by Zee Studios International.

The film marked Sridevi’s 300th and her final major film appearance before her death on February 24 last year.

In a statement, Vibha Chopra, Head of Zee Studios International (Film Marketing, Distribution and Acquisition), said of the late actor, “The legacy of an actor of her stature lives on in the work she has left behind for us. And Mom is the perfect example of this. The film has received an overwhelming response from every region it has released in. We are proud to be taking this heart-touching film to yet another market, spreading her gift farther and wider.”

On the film, producer and Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor said, “Mom is a film that has connected with both mothers and audiences from every region. This is Sridevi’s last film and our aim is to tell this beautiful story and showcase her most remembered last film to as many people as possible.”

Mom had Sridevi playing a mother who sets out to avenge her step-daughter, enacted by Pakistani actress Sajal Ali. The revenge thriller was directed by Ravi Udaywar and the film’s screenplay was written by Girish Kohli. It was bankrolled by Randa Elamin, Sunil Manchanda, Mukesh Talreja, Naresh Agarwal and Gautam Jain. Sridevi played the main lead in this film with the supporting cast comprising Sajal Ali, Adnan Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Oscar-winning music director AR Rahman had composed music for this flick. Sridevi won the National Award for Best Actress posthumously for her performance in the film while AR Rahman was adjudged the Best Music Composer for the film’s background score.
