Special treat for Rajini fans this Pongal

Superstar Rajinikanth’s fans are in for a special treat this Pongal. The star’s all-time hit flick, Baasha has been digitally re-mastered with 5.1 surround system and is all set to premiere at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai on January 10th, 2017.

The film, directed by Suresh Krishna, was one of the biggest hits in Rajinkanth’s career. Released in 1995, Baasha had Rajini and Nagma playing the lead roles. It also had Raghuvaran, Devan, Janakaraj, Charan Raj, Anand Raj in important roles. Deva had scored some peppy music for the film.

The film was digitally restored in 2012 and released in Hindi. Director Suresh Krishna and Rajinikanth were reportedly in talks over making a sequel to Baasha and the talks did not proceed further with the Superstar turning it down saying it is best to leave Baasha as it is since no new efforts can equal the film.

With the digitally re-mastered film all set to be released, fans are in for some excitement.
