Soubin Shahir signs films with Aashiq Abu and Amal Neerad

The Aashiq Abu directorial, a fantasy film scripted by Unni R, is expected to go on the floors first.

Soubin Shahir has signed two new deals and both of them sound exciting. While one film is with Aashiq Abu, the other will be directed by Amal Neerad.

Reports are that the Aashiq Abu directorial will go on the floors first. This is touted to be a fantasy film scripted by Unni R. An interesting detail about this film is that Soubin will be playing a gandharvan (celestial musician according to Hindu mythology) in it. Details about the rest of the cast and crew of this film are expected to be out soon. On Soubin’s film with Amal Neerad, we hear that it will commence after the latter completes his upcoming film Bilal.

While these films are taking shape, Soubin is busy with Jack n Jill and Trance.

Jack n Jill, directed by veteran director and cinematographer, Santosh Sivan, is touted to be a thriller. Apart from Soubin, the film’s cast includes Nedumudi Venu, Aju Varghese, Basil Joseph, Ramesh Pisharody and Suraj Venjaramoodu in important roles. Sources in the know say that Jack n Jill will be a bilingual releasing in Malayalam and Tamil. The film is bankrolled by the Dubai based company Lensman Studios. Its technical crew comprises debut music director Ram Surendar with BK Harinarayanan penning the lyrics. Santosh Sivan is cranking the camera for this venture with Renjith roped in for editing.

Trance has been scripted by Vadakkan Vincent and bankrolled by Anwar Rasheed under his banner Anwar Rasheed Entertainments. The film stars Fahadh Faasil in the lead role with Vinayakan, Soubin Shahir, Chemban Vinod, Sreenath Bhasi and Alphonse Puthran also in the cast. Apart from directing and producing the film, Anwar Rasheed is also handling the camera.

Soubin’s last release was Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25 in which he played a 34-year-old son to Suraj Venjaramood.
